It’s What You Make Of It

Your life will always be to a large extent what you make of it. 

The mold to your success and fortune are in your hands.

You cannot do everything, but you can do something.

You choose your thoughts and actions.  Nobody can do it for you.  Nobody will do it for you.  You have to make things happen.

If you take responsibility for your actions, you can achieve anything.

HAVE A PLAN AND COURAGE

You need a plan to find success.  Wanting success isn’t sufficient enough to get it.  You’ve got to ask yourself, “What am I going to do or give up, to get the things I want?”

You must bridge the gap between where you are now and where you want to be.

You cannot fail with a definite step by step plan, because each step you take will carry you along to the next step, like a track.

All you need is the plan, the road map, and the courage to press on to your destination.

You cannot get lost on a straight road.

SOW SEEDS IN THE SEASON OF FAILURE

People often handle life as they do bad weather.  They while away the time waiting for it to stop.

Opportunity knocks all the time, but you’ve got to be ready for it.  When your chance comes, you must have the equipment to take advantage of it.

The race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong, for time and chance happen to everyone.

Take a second look at what appears to be someone’s “good luck.”  You’ll find not luck but preparation, planning and success-producing thinking.

When you’re prepared for opportunity, your chance for success is sure to come.  The season of failure is the best time for sowing the seeds of success.

ARE YOU GOING TO START

The courage to begin separates day dreamers from achievers.  The difficulty of everyone who ever desires to achieve anything worthwhile comes in the movement.  Don’t always be intending to start but never find a time to begin.

Most people fail because they never get started.  They don’t go anywhere because they don’t begin.

The worst you can do is not try.

ACT IN THE SPIRIT OF LOVE

The place to begin to improve the world is in your own heart, head and hands.  To get along with others, love them without forcing your love upon them.

Imposing your beliefs on people will not bring you peace.  Have concern for others, respect their rights and freedoms, and let them be themselves.

Do this and you will enjoy peace.  Having consideration for others is the basis of a good life.  Most people are not against you, they are merely for themselves.

Let differing ideas clash, but not those of the heart.  Peace comes to you when you live and act in a spirit of love.

TAKE THAT FIRST STEP

Foolish people are always getting ready to live, but they never really live.

Success will start when you begin to pursue it.  To reach a goal or to attain success, you don’t need to know all the answers in advance.

You just need to have a clear idea of what that goal is.

Don’t procrastinate when faced with difficult problems  Break problems into small parts, and handle one part at a time.

Develop tendencies toward taking action.  Divide your big plan into small steps and take that first step right away.

Everyone got where they are by beginning where they were.  Where are you right now?

A journey of a thousand miles begins with that first step.

No matter what you want from life, you’ve got to give up something to get it.
